T.J. Holmes & Amy Robach Replaced On ‘GMA3’ Months After Being Fired For Alleged Affair
Some new faces are coming to GMA3 following the dismissal of T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach.
Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan will join the program alongside Dr. Jennifer Ashton as ABC News’ chief health and medical correspondent. ABC News president Kim Godwin reportedly announced the new anchors in a memo released to staffers today (May 11).
Godwin said,
“I am incredibly proud of the reporting Eva, DeMarco and Gio have brought to ABC News. They join their colleagues Whit, Janai and Dr. Jen whose steadfast commitment to bold, straightforward journalism has been integral to their respective programs’ success.”
Five months have passed since T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were fired from the afternoon news program as a result of their alleged affair.

After news of the reported affair broke, ABC temporarily removed the former co-anchors, who were each married to other people at the time, citing the allegations as a “distraction.”
In December, Godwin reportedly told the editorial staff:
“It’s become an internal and an external distraction, the relationship between two of our colleagues. While the relationship is not a violation of company policies, I have taken the last few days to think through what I think is best for our organization. For now, I’m going to take Amy and T.J. off the air while we figure this out.”
Holmes subsequently filed for divorce from immigration lawyer Marilee Fiebig, whom he married in March 2010. The ex-lovers share 10-year-old daughter Sabine.
As for Robach‘s love life, she married Melrose Place star Andrew Shue in 2010. The former couple — who don’t share any children together — listed their New York City apartment for sale in September. Their divorce was finalized in March, according to reports. Robach has two children from her first marriage.

The former show hosts appear to still be going strong, as they were recently photographed holding hands in New York City.
However, social media users have mixed feelings about their relationship with ABC News coming to an end — evidenced by the responses in the comments section of the network’s announcement.

One Instagram user said,
“Prefer TJ and Amy along with dr. Jen. Show isn’t the same.”
Another user added,
“Good choice ABC”
According to another Instagram user,
“Congratulations to them however still not the same without TJ & Amy!”

Another user said,
“Congratulations! Enjoy the real questions Eva and DeMarco ask and the comradery between the 3 hosts. Gio did a wonderful job, too.”

Even when they disagreed, the majority of Instagram users maintained civility. However, one user did not hold back, saying,
“Sorry but when ABC took Tj &Amy off because they fell in love, I stopped watching. They made the show exciting and fun ,couldn’t wait everyday to view. Then ABC, punished them and the audience. SHAME ON YOU.”

Pilgrim joined ABC News as a New York correspondent in 2015 and has co-anchored Good Morning America on Saturday and Sunday since 2018. She will be succeeded by Gio Benitez. Morgan joined the news program in 2022 as a Los Angeles correspondent.
