Rick Ross Says Car Show Will Go On Despite Denied Permit + Rapper Shares Plan To Run For Mayor Of Fayetteville, Ga.
Does rapper Rick Ross have a future in politics?
It looks like Rick Ross, 47, might have to extend his already impressive résumé if he wants his annual car show to go as planned in the future. As previously reported, neighbors of the “Run It” rapper filed a petition earlier this month against his upcoming concert, car and bike show, which is scheduled to take place at Rick Ross’ personal residence located in Fayetteville, GA on June 3.

Residents of the neighborhood told the Fayette County Board of Commissioners that the event caused way too much traffic last year. One neighbor even claimed that the car show “unnecessarily compromised” the community’s “quality of life.”
According to reports, the Board of Commissioners listened to the complaints and ultimately denied Rick Ross’ permit. However, Rozay seems to have a solution to ensure his event isn’t denied in the future. On Tuesday (May 16), he announced via his Instagram Story that he plans to run for mayor of the city of Fayetteville, Georgia. He reportedly said:
“I love Fayetteville so much. Next year I’m running for mayor,”
He continued,
“That’s right. The boss Rick Ross running for mayor of Fayetteville. I wanna know how many votes did it actually take to vote in the mayor of Fayetteville.”

Ross then seemingly hinted at what he will do if elected,
“I need to know that ‘cause we gon’ become that. We gon’ make that happen, and we gonna have a good time. We gon’ give some people opportunities, we gon’ give some people raises and, of course, we gon’ have to clean some people out.”
As far as his plans for this year’s car show, Ross appears to be unbothered by the fact his permit wasn’t approved. He reportedly said,
“Breaking news, the Rick Ross Car Show June 3 goes on. It must go on. It’s a private event on private property with VIPs and you’re invited. Tickets still available online. It’s going to be a beautiful event. Shoutout to the beautiful city of Fayetteville.”
He continued, adding,
“This when I become great during the challenges. That’s what I like. That’s why I was always one to initiate certain things because I love the challenge. I don’t have a problem going against the challenges because Ricky Rozay ready. Is it really a challenge?”
He also shared an image online today (May 17) with his 17.9 million IG followers encouraging them to come to the event taking place at “The Promise Land,” which is the nickname for his residence.

Hopefully, Rick Ross’ neighbors aren’t too upset after this year’s car show because it doesn’t look like the entertainer is backing down.
