Update: Wendy Williams’ Manager & Rep Deny Her Son’s Claims That She’s Being ‘Taken Advantage Of’ By Her Team

Update: (Jun. 7, 2023): Wendy Williams’ team has denied the serious accusations from the media mogul’s son.

Kevin Hunter Jr. recently claimed that his mother is being “taken advantage of” by her inner circle amid her health issues and battle with alcoholism. According to the 22-year-old college student, those close to Wendy are “definitely enabling” her drinking problem. In addition, he alluded that Wendy’s court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, is mishandling his mother’s finances.

However, in a new interview, Wendy’s manager, Will Selby, claimed that no one is mistreating the former talk show host. He said,

“Taking advantage of her for what? To get what? To do what? I’m not here to brag but I was doing just okay before Wendy came along and I insisted on helping her because she requested my assistance,”

Selby continued, addressing Wendy’s guardianship,

“Wendy is under a guardianship. Everything that she does gets approved by the guardianship. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one, even if they wanted to take advantage of her — everything has to get approved by that court. So, any type of business dealings that we do, Wendy, myself and anyone — we have to get the guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of her?”

He then questioned why Kevin Jr. publicized his concerns.

“If your mother was near death would the first thing you do is call an online publication? Okay. So, that’s all I have to say about that… I usually don’t do this. I’m only speaking on behalf of my client, and I’m not trying to have a debate with Kevin. You know he’s a young man, and honestly, I feel like he’s gone through a lot. He’s probably dealing with a lot. I have a son that’s the same age as him, and sometimes you just make poor decisions, in my opinion, and I’m just speaking to my son.”

Selby continued,

“I’m not here to be combative about whatever allegations he has. He’s entitled to his opinion. I’m just trying to say that us, as adults, let’s be responsible and let’s actually utilize some common sense. Someone was near death, someone like your mother. Why would you go to an online publication to discuss it with them?”

Wendy’s rep, Shawn Zanotti, also weighed in with similar sentiments, adding

 “[The U.S. Sun] has released false narratives with the intent to release stories without fully vetting information, which is a disadvantage to the public, and is unprofessional and unethical. We ask that the world continues to pray for the well-being of Wendy as she continues to recover from a very traumatic two years.”

Original story: (Jun. 6, 2023): Comments from Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., have sparked concerns from fans of the former talk show host.

Kevin claims that his mother’s mental and physical health have been in jeopardy ever since she was placed under guardianship last year. He believes that concerns over Wendy Williams’ health have been pushed aside while those in her inner circle are taking advantage of her.

During a recent interview with The U.S. Sun, Kevin Hunter Jr. said,

“I know there are all sorts of things happening that I know in her right mind she would never agree to….As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I’m making sure she, as a person, is okay, that is the important thing. Because eventually, she’s going to realize the craziness that’s been going on.”

He then expressed concern about those who are currently around Wendy.

“What’s been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion that should not be a priority at all. And whoever has been hired – they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better.”

Kevin also showed great concern for his mother’s alcoholism.

“I know the rate that she uses alcohol isn’t like a normal person- and we’ve spoken about it. I’ve said ‘This is one thing where you don’t know how to approach it normally, and that’s fine.’ And it’s gotten to a point where yes, it could have that effect that it might be fatal because it affects her way worse than a normal person since it stays in her system.”

According to Kevin, when his mother does go to get the help she needs, people seem to swoop in and use the opportunity to get her alone.

“I feel that when it comes to people wanting to ‘help’ her, a lot of it is coming from a stance of, okay, she’s alone now. Let’s try to see how we can make her act the way we want her to act, or if we can kind of control the rate at which she’s handling herself.”

Kevin also believes her team enables her drinking problem.

“If they aren’t providing it, they are definitely enabling a type of personality and giving her the green light to drink.”

In addition, Kevin has an issue with Wendy Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. As you may recall, Wendy was placed under guardianship after Wells Fargo froze her bank accounts as they suspected the star was the victim of,

“financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence.”

Kevin had this to say about his mom’s guardian:

“I don’t know what the ultimate goal is for [Sabrina] as the person in charge of stuff, but there have never been articles put out saying [Wendy] isn’t okay…I don’t feel like Sabrina has done a great job at all.”

He continued,

“I think that based on her actions, I’d have to assume something is going on that she’s not telling me. Whether it be that she is receiving income on the side or what, but there is a lot of her pushing away of myself and everybody down here, and saying that she’s not going give updates. She’s really vague with updates.”

Wendy’s son insists that the former talk show host should not be working right now, but instead focusing on her health.

“I think that it’s best for her to have to prioritize her health first. Nobody around her will tell her this, but she doesn’t have to be working…She needs to take a break from trying to progress her career and just be proud of what she’s accomplished.”

Since Kevin Hunter Jr. has spoken out, fans have shown great concern for the TV personality. Many are worried about Wendy’s ailing health and applaud her son for speaking out, while others claimed Kevin is also taking advantage of his mother.
