YFN Lucci Rejects Plea Deal In RICO Case & Decides To Go Forward w/ Trial: ‘We Continue To Be Ready & Prepared To Defend These False Allegations’

Rapper YFN Lucci is not stopping until his innocence is proven!

According to reports, YFN Lucci has decided not to take Georgia prosecutors up on their plea offer, and he’s heading back before the judge to clear his name.

If you didn’t know, at the top of 2021, charges were brought against YFN Lucci for his alleged involvement in a 2020 shooting that left a man dead and another wounded. Additionally, he was hit with aggravated assault and participation in criminal street gang activity charges.

The “Way Up” rhymer turned himself in but later posted a $500,000 bond. However, in May of that same year, Lucci was named in a massive RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) indictment, listing him as a member of the faction of the notorious collective, the Bloods.

In legal documents, officials accused the 32-year-old of “concealing a crime scene,” hiding a vehicle in connection with a homicide, and strangling (among other physical harm) an unidentified individual.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis negotiated a deal with a 20-year sentence, with 17 of them having to be served behind bars. But… Lucci would have to confess to a number of crimes, including felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

Lucci’s lawyers, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, aren’t going for it and told an outlet that the guidelines are “absurd.” They also alluded that Fani Willis had been too hyperfocused on “newer, high-profile cases that have completely monopolized the Court’s resources” to properly (and timely) tend to the one at hand.

A statement from Drew Findling and Gabe Banks read,

“Despite the obstacles consistently placed in the way of [YFN Lucci’s] constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial, we continue to be ready and prepared to defend these false allegations.”

Lucci has denied playing any part in the said offenses.
