Exclusive: ‘Basketball Wives: Orlando’ Spin-Off Now Filming, Mehgan James Joins Cast
theJasmineBrand exclusively reports that “Basketball Wives” has started filming in a new city!
Insiders tell us that filming has kicked off for “Basketball Wives Orlando.” This new location is the third installment of the reality TV franchise. You may already know that the original version took place in Miami, Florida. The series premiered in 2010 and ran for 5 seasons until 2013.
The first spin-off, “Basketball Wives LA,” premiered on August 29, 2011. Season 10 wrapped in May and we exclusively reported last month that Evelyn Lozada is reportedly returning for season 11.

Looks like Evelyn Lozada isn’t the only former “Basketball Wives” cast member that’s decided to make a return. Our sources have also revealed that Mehgan James has joined the cast for the Orlando segment. The socialite was previously on “Basketball Wives LA” for season 4. During her time on the show, she was known for speaking her mind and standing her ground…no matter what.
Since then, Mehgan James has appeared on a few other reality series, including “Baddies ATL” and “Notorious Queens.” She’s also built a successful podcasting career. However, in March she faced backlash for an interview where she asked rapper/media personality Yung Joc how he was able to “sustain a 20-year career off of one-hit.” Mehgan James did later issue a public apology via IG. She wrote,
“First of all I wana apologize to @joclive , my intentions were not to disrespect you during my podcast interview , I was honestly interested in you journey & how you have been able to stay relevant through out the years.”
