‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Alum Monique Samuels Files For Divorce From Chris Samuels

It looks like Monique Samuels is pulling the plug on her marriage.

According to reports, ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ alum has filed for divorce from Chris Samuels.

On Tuesday (June 20), The Montgomery County Family Court confirmed that Monique Samuels has filed to legally end her marriage. Although the reality star has submitted a petition to seal the documents, records show that she filed a complaint for absolute divorce on April 14 and then later filed an amended complaint for absolute divorce on June 15.

In October 2022, rumors surfaced that the pair were calling it quits after 10 years of marriage.

While Monique Samuels, 39, previously admitted that her marriage with her husband was “struggling in some areas,” she denied the rumors and said that they were NOT getting a divorce.

Monique explained,

“It’s no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some areas of our marriage and anybody who watched ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ last year, y’all saw the arguments, y’all saw everything that was going on.”

She continued,

“It was a lot of confusion, it was crazy building up to that 10-year marker of our marriage and when you’ve been married that long and when you have things that you’re like ‘Listen, this is being unmet or I’ve been unheard’ you start to get frustrated and it’s like, ‘Oh my god, is this what life is going to be? I can’t take it anymore.’ So what y’all saw on ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ last season, it was my cry for help.”

 Monique added,

“Without further explanation, everyone knows that when you say the words separation, that insinuates a divorce. Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No! We aren’t getting a divorce. Are we going our separate ways? Absolutely not, nobody said that. Have we filed a legal separation? No. Have we filed for divorce? No. Is there any document that proves any divorce filings? No. Have we separated to the extent of breaking up? No.”

Sadly, it looks like things have drastically changed.

The former couple have not appeared on each other’s Instagram pages since December 2022. Additionally, Chris has unfollowed Monique and her company, Not for Lazy Moms, on Instagram.

Monique and Chris married in 2012 and share three children together, sons Christopher, 9, and Chase, 3, and daughter Milani, 7.
