Chad OchoCinco Slams The Idea Of Men Needing To Spend $300 On The First Date: ‘I Am Extremely Cheap & Financially Conscious’
Former NFL star Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson isn’t the type to spend a bag on the first date!
In a recent interview with TikToker/podcaster Angie Lolo, Chad OchoCinco shared his thoughts on the (controversial) topic of how much money men should spend when they take women out on dates. During the chat, after the media personality said a lot of women feel like men should spend at least $300 on the first date, the 45-year-old ex-NFLer kept it candid and shut down the thought of dropping hundreds so quickly.

He expressed,
“$300 what? American dollars?…B*tch please. On who? On the first date? For what?”
Chad OchoCinco then denied claims that he’s a “high-value man” and said,
“I think high-value is based on stream of income, revenue. But I am extremely cheap and financially conscious, so I don’t consider myself a high-value man.”
When the host mentioned that Chad “has a lot of money,” seemingly from his professional football playing days, the former wide receiver interjected and shared,
“Yes, yes. And I’m going to save it, which is why a $300 date ain’t never happening. Because what am I paying for actually?”
He continued,
“If I’m at wit’s end and I need help and I’m with you and you need a $300 date, can she save me? Can she help me? Is she an asset or is she a liability? Because anybody that need a $300 date off rip is nothing but a liability.”

The clip, which currently has over 4.5 million views on Twitter, has sparked a debate online. One Twitter user noted that there are men who are willing to spend a lot of money on a date and said,
“He’s not wrong tbh but if that’s what she wants, she will find a man willing. she’ll just be missing out on the important things by hyper focusing on how much he’s spending.”

On the other hand, many users agreed with the athlete. Another person tweeted,
“Met this girl at Starbucks, spent $10 and had great conversation. We’re married now.”

OchoCinco is currently engaged to realtor Sharelle Rosado. The pair had been dating for a few months at the time of their engagement in January 2021. They welcomed their first child in January 2022. Sharelle Rosado has three children from a previous relationship and OchcoCinco has seven children from previous relationships.
