Nene Leakes Seemingly Agrees w/ Bethenny Frankel That Reality Stars Should Join The Hollywood Strike: Reality Stars Do Not Receive Benefits –I Don’t Get a Penny for all of Those Memes You See Out There.

The reality TV stars want in on the current strike happening in Hollywood.

After former “RHNY” star Bethenny Frankel urged reality TV personalities to join the the actors and writers in their fight for better pay, former “RHOA” star Nene Leakes all but agreed.

In a lengthy video posted to her social media, entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel made it clear that she feels reality TV production companies exploit their talent. The TV personality reportedly revealed that during her first season on the hit Bravo series, she was only paid $7,250. Additionally, Frankel said that she’s never been paid residuals despite the success and impact of the show, adding:

“I have never made a single residual…So either I’m missing something, or we’re getting screwed too.”

Continuing, the Skinnygirl founder laid out a list of demands she thinks all her fellow reality stars would agree would be fair compensation for sharing such vulnerable parts of their lives. It seems Nene Leakes for one, mostly agrees. Despite seeming slightly annoyed at that fact Frankel is espousing something she’s spoken on for years, Leakes confirmed she also does not get paid residual’s, despite her time on “RHOA” still being watched and streamed at high volume to date.

The ex peach posted a video to her social media after allegedly being bombarded with requests to respond to Frankel’s post, stating:

“Bethenny has an advantage that I do not have…[she] can say things and people will get it and they’ll understand it. For a very long time I have said that there is a lot of unfair treatment in different areas of the reality workspace,”

She continued:

“Reality stars do not receive benefits….[not] any health benefits, any residuals. There’s no union for reality stars…the way your likeness is used over and over and over again and you don’t get one red penny. I don’t get a penny for all of those memes you see out there.”

Leakes went on to add that reality stars likeness can be used for years and they will not get paid from it, and referred viewers to go watch Frankel’s video as she believes she “will be supported a lot more” than Leakes would if she attempted to lead the cause. So far it doesn’t seem that Bravo nor Andy Cohen have responded to Frankel’s post. Nor does it seem other reality stars are quite ready to hop on board. However, judging by the way the Sag/AFTRA strike went down, it would be no surprise if reality stars decided to join the cause soon.
