Bethenny Frankel Gives Brutally Honest Review Of Kim Kardashian’s ‘Overpriced’ & ‘Impractical’ Skincare Products

And the most impractical packaging award goes to Kim Kardashian, at least according to Bethenny Frankel.

In a video shared via TikTok on Tuesday, August 9, the former Real Housewives of New York City star tested out the exfoliator and eye cream from the SKKN by Kim skincare line, and let’s just say: She did not hold back.

For starters, the round shape of the eye cream’s packaging is “impractical,” at least as far as Bethenny Frankel is concerned.

In her very honest opinion, she said:

“It’s bulbous. I don’t understand it because it doesn’t stack. I don’t live in a circular house. I don’t have a medicine cabinet. That’s impractical at best.”

And the exfoliator’s packaging was just as impractical. In the words of Bethenny Frankel,

“This is crazy. It’s gigantic. How are you going to travel with this? If you don’t have a private plane … you have to be a billionaire to use this product. It’s just not practical.”

Frankel, who prides herself on being organized, expressed her surprise at the products’ packaging—considering the Kardashians arrange their jelly beans according to color.

As far as the products themselves, Frankel seemed to enjoy the exfoliant formula—but she’s not so sure it’s worth the price. The eye cream is, in fact, “luxurious,” but she seemed to expect more because of, once again, the price tag.

Despite the fact that she was brutally honest in her review, Frankel Did give the skincare line a solid overall rating, well, sort of. She noted that,

“this is definitely good skin care, this is quality, I just think it’s extremely impractical in its packaging, I know that very ecologically sound. It’s a good product that’s likely somewhat over priced, but most beauty is over priced.”

But are the products worth the price? According to Frankel,

“Unlikely.”

Kim Kardashian has already come under fire for allegedly infringing on the trademark of small business owner Cydnie Lunsford, the owner of similarly named skincare line SKKN+.

Cydnie Lunsford‘s attorneys served Kim Kardashian with a cease-and-desist letter in July 2021, asserting her Brooklyn-based business Beauty Concepts LLC has been offering salon and skin care services under the brand SKKN+ since July 2017. Cydnie Lunsford raised concerns that Kardashian‘s brand would cause confusion in the marketplace.

In response to Lunsford‘s claims, Kardashian family attorney Michael G. Rhodes said,

“We certainly appreciate and support small businesses, and our hat is off to Ms. Lunsford. But the question at hand is one of trademark law and we’ve not done anything deserving of legal action by her.”

He added,

“Several times we reached out to Beauty Concepts, trying to find a sensible path to coexistence. We pointed out that running a small esthetician business in Brooklyn does not give it the right to shut down a global skin care line.”

Kardashian, who has built quite the reputation for allegedly ripping off Black women and small business owners, has also been accused of ‘copying’ Lori Harvey’s skincare line SKN.
