NeNe Leakes’ Son Bryson Bryant Had Fentanyl In ‘Plain View’ Of His Vehicle During Recent Arrest + 33-Year-Old Requests Public Defender Because He’s ‘Financially Unable To Employ An Attorney’

It looks like Bryson Bryant didn’t do a good job at hiding drugs from the police when his vehicle was searched earlier this month.

According to reports, the fentanyl found in Bryant’s Dodge Durango was in “plain view” on the center console in a small plastic bag. According to the officer that found the drugs, Bryson Bryant was “sitting on the grass” in front of a residence talking to another cop when he took his flashlight to inspect NeNe Leakes 33-year-old son’s vehicle.

The report read,

“On the center console near the gear shift, in plain view, was a small plastic bag that contained a white powdery substance.”

The officer suspected the drugs found were either cocaine or fentanyl.

He wrote,

“I field-tested the white powdery substance, which provided a presumptive positive for fentanyl.”

The report continued,

“[Bryant] was assisted to his feet and placed in handcuffs for being within the curtilage of the residence without permission from the homeowner.”

Bryson was placed under arrest not only for the drugs but for loitering and prowling.

As previously reported,  Bryson was arrested on July 3 for felony possession of Fentanyl. He was also hit with a misdemeanor “loitering/prowling” charge. The incident took place around 1 a.m. at a residence in Lawrenceville, Georgia. According to the police affidavit, Bryson was at the home in question “evading police and claiming he knew the people that lived at the residence which was false.”

At the time of his arrest, Bryson claimed to be his 24-year-old younger brother, Brentt Leakes. Because of this, some of the records for the case – including the booking sheet – have Brentt’s name on them.

Later that day, the arresting officer received a phone call from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office informing him of Bryson’s real identity. When the officer searched Bryson’s name in the system, he saw that Leakes’ oldest son was “wanted for probation violation.”

Although Bryson was released on bond, prosecutors added a charge of “giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.” He was quickly rearrested and is currently behind bars. According to documents obtained by RadarOnline, Bryson informed the court he needed a public defender because he was “financially unable to employ an attorney.” It looks like NeNe Leakes has no plans of helping her son out.

He’s scheduled to appear in court later this month. NeNe has yet to speak out about her son’s arrest.
