Drake Fires Back At Journalist Elliott Wilson Over Allegations That He Only Does Interviews ‘With Outsiders To Our Culture,’ Rapper Says ‘The Youth Took Over’
It looks like Drake wants all the smoke with Elliott Wilson!
Drake has fired back at Elliott Wilson after the magazine editor criticized him for not doing interviews with Black outlets and journalists.
Drake’s clap back came after DJ Akademiks’ shared a clip on Instagram of Wilson interviewing Trippie Redd at Rolling Loud Miami over the weekend. The Canadian rapper then hopped in the comment section and took a shot at the CEO of Rap Radar.
He wrote,
“Lol man sh*ts on not coming to his platform for a second time and now Elliott 10 toes doing Yes Julz run up interviews at Rolling Loud. Just admit the youth took over big dog.”

Drake
Wilson caught wind of Drake’s comments and quickly replied via Twitter by posting a screenshot of the interview in question. He wrote,
“Oh, it’s go time? Cool.”

This apparent beef all started when Wilson called out Drake for doing interviews with “outsiders” instead of those in the hip-hop community. His comments seemingly centered around the “One Dance” rapper doing interviews with TikTok star Bobbi Althoff and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley.

In a since-deleted tweet, Wilson wrote,
“Moment of clarity: No disrespect to Lil Boat. Yachty’s convo with The Boy was comfy and had some cool moments. I was more so clowning the comedy shenanigans with outsiders to our culture. It would be great to hear Drake speak to us again. Even if it ain’t me.”

Elliott Wilson
Elliott Wilson isn’t the only one criticizing Drake. Earlier this month, Hot 97 and Apple Music 1’s Ebro shared that he isn’t pleased with the rapper because he doesn’t use his platform to address issues and hardships faced by the Black community.
His remarks came during a conversation about Drake’s recent diss toward Childish Gambino’s 2018 single “This Is America” at his “It’s All a Blur” tour stop in Chicago. Reportedly, Childish Gambino (AKA Donald Glover) revealed in a previous interview that “This Is America” initially started off as a Drake diss record.
In response to Drake’s comment, Ebro said,
“Y’all know I’m the biggest Drake fan on this show. Drake has never shown up to have anything to say about anything going on in society with Black folks or anything other than himself.”
He continued,
“You’re also one of the most successful rappers we’ve ever seen, and we love you for that… The song’s called ‘This Is America.’ You’re Canadian, bro!”
In response to a Twitter user, Ebro clarified:
“I was responding to Drake saying ‘This Is America’ is overrated and over-awarded. That song made people feel something at an important moment. And to slam that song when you never say anything is wack to me.”
