Gunna Called ‘Rat’ While Out w/ Security Amid Ongoing Speculations He ‘Snitched’ On Fellow Rapper Young Thug

Rap star Gunna continues to get trolled over “snitching” allegations.

The former YSL member was out with friends and security recently when one bold man yelled a street slur at the musician.

In the short video clip of the exchange, the man appears to recognize Gunna, real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, 30, and without a second thought began hurling his insults, stating:

“Look at Gunna the rat…check him out”

Gunna’s security immediately intervenes, asking the man to repeat what was said. Seemingly intimidated, the individual states he said “look at Gunna,” opting to remove the “rat” verbiage the second time around. The “Drip Too Hard” artist’s bodyguard then went back in forth with the individual, daring him to say it again and making it clear he “don’t give a f**k” if the man presses charge should the situation get physical. The footage shows Gunna, however, passing by the situation without engaging at all.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the entire ordeal, Gunna has been under a microscopic lens by rap fans and fellow artists since being released from jail back in December of last year. In May of 2022 Gunna, along with fellow YSL rapper Young Thug, born Jeffrey Williams, 31, and more than 20 other co-defendants, were detained as part of a massive RICO lawsuit brought on by the city of Atlanta. All individuals stand accused of partaking in a number of gang-related crimes, which were allegedly led by Young Thug himself. Gunna ultimately entered an Alford plea and took a deal with prosecutors that resulted in his release.

Despite Gunna’s attorney stating his client will not testify against Young Thug should he be called as a witness, fans and musicians seem to believe he is guilty of “snitching,” which is a huge no-no in the hip-hop community. If you recall, fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Baby unfollowed Gunna on social media shortly after his prison release, fueling “snitch” speculations even further. While rapper Bandman Kevo stated he wants his $250,000 Gunna feature deposit back because he couldn’t do music with an alleged “snitch.”

Though Gunna’s street credit may be tainted at the moment, it seems the drama surrounding his jail release has worked in favor of his music. Reportedly, the musician’s single “Fukumean,” released earlier this year following the plea deal saga, scored him his highest charting song to date. There have been no major updates regarding the YSL RICO case at this time.
