Candiace Dillard-Bassett is a lover, but she’s not going to back down from a fight.

During an appearance on the Streetz 99.3 radio station, the Real Housewives of Potomac star discussed why she chose to pick up a bottle after Deborah Williams, a friend of Ashley Darby, allegedly hurled a drink at her moments before having a crazy altercation involving Keaiana Stewart, who is also a friend of the show.

Candiace Dillard-Bassett said,

“Self-defense all the way, all day. If a drink is thrown at me and I turn around it was thrown … at my back and I see this monster coming at me. There’s no security around. She strategically waited for security and production to back away, I’m going to defend myself. And I am going to pick up whatever is within arm’s reach, if I feel like I am in some sort of danger.”

She continued,

“And I didn’t know what she was going to do. You can’t rationalize crazy or unhinged, and when I thought I was in danger, I defended myself. Now it turns out, she was being handled and I didn’t have to engage … which is great. I don’t fight, but I also don’t run away … but you’re also not going to physically attack me and I not defend myself.”

She added,

“And I think as a human being, anyone who is at their place of work, which is where I was, and you are being physically attacked, is going to defend themselves.”

Deborah Williams and Keaiana Stewart are friends of Ashley Darby and Dr. Wendy Osefo, respectively, rather than full-time housewives on the Bravo program.

Keaiana Stewart was reportedly caught on camera beating up Deborah Williams at Washington D.C.’s Zebbie’s Garden following a RHOP taping.

Candiace Dillard-Bassett claimed someone threw a drink at her amid the physical altercation, while Keaiana said she was struck on the forehead with a glass before being pushed down, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

The altercation was captured on camera, and Candiace can be seen picking up a bottle before Keiana is seen hitting Deborah for the drink toss. The beauty and wellness brand owner then struck Deborah with what appeared to be a glass before punching her repeatedly. After Deborah‘s companion pushed Keiana to the ground and security got involved, the altercation came to an end.
