Singer Elton John Is ‘In Good Health’ After Being Hospitalized For Fall In His Home
British singer Elton John is recovering smoothly after taking a fall at his home in Nice, France.
According to reports, Elton John spent the night in the hospital following “a slip” at his villa on Sunday (Aug. 27). The 76-year-old musician was then taken to the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco, where he was kept overnight for observation. He was treated for minor injuries and discharged Monday morning (Aug. 28), reports claim.
A representative for Elton John shared in a statement,
“We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure. Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”
Reportedly, the legendary singer has been spending the summer in France with his husband David Furnish, and their two sons after wrapping his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour — which ultimately stretched for five years with over 300 performances. After kicking off in 2018, Elton previously postponed the 2021 dates of his tour to undergo hip surgery after falling on a hard surface.
In addition to his procedure, delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back Elton’s farewell tour dates as well. He made his return to the stage in 2023 and officially wrapped the farewell tour in July. The Grammy winner’s final tour stop reportedly took place at The Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
