‘8 Mile’ Actor Nashawn Breedlove Has Reportedly Passed Away At 46

On Monday (Sept. 26.) rapper Mickey Factz broke the tragic news that Nashawn Breedlove has passed away. In a post shared to his Instagram account dedicated to the late entertainer, the “414 Words” artist wrote,
“RIP to one of the few emcee’s to beat Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. Who’s friends lovingly called him, OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness.”

Nashawn Breedlove portrayed Lotto in the 2002 film “8 Mile,” which is loosely based on Eminem’s life. In the movie, Lotto has an iconic rap battle against the main character Jimmy Smith Jr. aka B-Rabbit (portrayed by Eminem). The film was a huge hit and is still considered a fan favorite by many hip-hop fans. According to reports, “8 Mile” grossed $51.3 million domestically in its opening weekend, and eventually pulled in $242.9 million worldwide.
A loved one of Nashawn Breedlove told TMZ that he died in his sleep on Sunday (Sept. 24) at his home in New Jersey. At this time, an official cause of death has not been released to the public.
