Tristan Thompson Fears Kids Will ‘Feel Embarrassed’ He’s Their Father Due To His Cheating History: ‘I Never Had To Hold Myself Accountable’
Tristan Thompson is seemingly concerned his children won’t be voting him “Father of the Year” when they find out about his controversial past.
NBA player Tristan Thompson tends to make headlines more for his actions off the court than on. As you more than likely know, the father-of-four is said to have cheated on the mother of his first child – Jordan Craig – with reality TV star Khloé Kardashian. Then during his relationship with Khloé Kardashian, he was actually caught a few times stepping out on the socialite. Most infamously, he impregnated fitness model Maralee Nichols around the same time he and Khloé were expecting their second child together via surrogacy.

In the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” the professional athlete shared with Khloé Kardashian his fears about how his children will view him when they learn about his past. Tristan Thompson – who was living with his ex when the footage was taken while his home received repairs – said,
“It wasn’t until I really had to look at myself. I never had to hold myself accountable. We’re taught, ‘Be the man, do what you please, bros before hoes …’ You gotta just be your own man and don’t care what people think and don’t feel like you have to get validation from others.”

He continued and noted that his older children – True, 5, whom he shares with Khloé, and Prince Oliver, 6½, whom he shares with Jordan Craig – are at an age where they can understand what is being said in the media.
“True is understanding stuff and Prince understands things where they go to school and they have classmates. The last thing I ever want them to do is feel embarrassed that I’m their father,”
He added,
“I think going down this journey that I’ve been on, especially with losing my mom, I always ask myself, ‘Why do certain things to hurt certain people?'”

It seems people around Tristan can see his growth. In the same episode, Kim Kardashian explained why she still considers her sister’s ex a friend. She said,
“Oh, I know guys are gonna hate me for this and you’re gonna hate us and you’re gonna think Khloe is whatever… It’s so crazy because he’s such a good friend and he’s such a good like Dad… but he just couldn’t get it together in that area, of like being a faithful boyfriend.”
She added,
“We’ve had our talks about it and we’ve had our fights about it and we’ve had our arguments about it,’ she added, before going on to defend him. But he’s also shown so many decent things and just has been a really good person and friend. When he saw me struggling with my kids, he stepped up.”
