‘RHOP’ Star Mia Thornton Accused By Estranged Husband Of Marrying Him For Money & Says She’s Leaving Him Now Because He Has Limited Funds

The husband of reality star Mia Thornton is speaking out about their pending divorce.

Reflecting on their relationship, “RHOP” cast member Gordon Thornton says after the way things ended between the two, he’s certain his estranged wife was only with him for his money.

As we reported last month, TV personality Mia Thornton, 38, shared to her social media that she was separated from her husband Gordon Thornton, 71, after 11 years of marriage. The Bravolite attributed the split to a result of the “ups and downs” of marriage. However,  it seems the celebrity husband has a different perspective on why the relationship came to an end. During a recent interview, Gordon was candid about his belief that Mia was with him because of the life she thought he could provide for her and that she’s now seemingly missing out on because of his current financial struggle.

The businessman started the conversation by revealing that he was really frustrated with Mia for lying and creeping behind his back, despite having his blessing to be with other men. He stated:

“What really aggravates me through all of this, is that I’ve given her permission. But yet she still chooses to sneak around, chooses to lie, chooses to continuously change her story about whats going on and why she’s leaving me,”

And he continued:

“She’s told me that this guy is her soulmate…I’ve said you could see someone just don’t make it public and don’t involve the kids…She was still sneaking around and thinking I didn’t know.”

Gordon went on to state that he discovered what was happening behind his back because he’d look at the phone records, as they are in his name, and see late night calls seemingly centered around times he wasn’t present. Seeming a bit begrudged, he added that Mia chose to be with her alleged new man over her husband of more than a decade because of his money situation. He added in the interview:

“I do agree that Mia married me for my money and the future that she thought I could provide…I absolutely believe her leaving me now is tied to the fact that I don’t have access to assets and my funds are limited at this point in time…this guy that she’s seeing she believes has access to funds…she’s mentioned that their going to be buying a house together and doing businesses together…which tells me that the interest is based on monetary gain from the relationship…she’s leaving me cause she sees an upgrade”

It seems Gordon is completely over his relationship with Mia. Ending his rant, he made clear his desire to “never be associated” with his soon to be ex ever again outside of co-parenting. The pair share two children together and each has one additional child from previous relationships. Gordon also touched on the only circumstance that the two could ever rekindle their relationship, claiming if they did it would only be for the benefit of their children because he no longer trusts her.

At this time it doesn’t seem that Mia has reacted to Gordon’s recent discussion about her and it’s also unclear who her new man could be. It’s almost certain, however, that viewers will see their divorce play out on season 8 of the Bravo series.
