Mia Thornton Clears Up Rumors Surrounding Her Alleged Exit From ‘RHOP’ Following Altercation w/ Wendy Osefo: Bravo’s Going To Have To Fire Me

Mia Thornton is not turning in her Real Housewives of Potomac hat just yet.

The reality TV star is dispelling rumors about her suspected departure from the program following her altercation with Wendy Osefo.

Rumors started swirling not long after Mia Thornton first posted on social media, saying,

“For the sake of my children, my family, friends, staff, and business partners, I have to move on.”

She subsequently returned and apologized after initially deleting her Twitter account, leading many to speculate that she was only addressing her actions in response to the criticism she had been receiving. Mia Thornton said,

“My actions toward Wendy was intolerable. It’s unfortunate that you will attack my family, friends, and my businesses based on an edited tv show. While I was committed to drama and entertainment I must do what’s best for [my] brand & partners. Much love, Mia.”

Regardless of the drama, the ladies of RHOP aren’t getting rid of Mia that easily, and she said Bravo is going to have to fire her to get her off the show.

Mia shared,

“I, by all means, wouldn’t go to social media to announce that I’m leaving the show, right? But I was making an announcement that I just don’t have time to feed into everyone’s comment and opinions because I have to do what’s best my businesses, my partners, my investors, my kids, my family, my friends who are all heavily affected.”

She added,

“You know, just because I can accept public scrutiny — I signed up for it, right? — doesn’t necessarily make it fair for people to go out and attack my partners. I have to do what’s best for them because that’s just the type of person that I am, and I just don’t think it’s fair.”

As previously reported, Mia is adamant that she was provoked during the drink-throwing incident, despite the fact that she is not proud of her behavior.

Wendy Osefo has referred to the beverage hurl as “unwarranted” and even suggested that it was a ploy for a memorable “Housewives’ moment.” Regardless of her motives, Mia holds herself accountable and stated she will try to handle situations better in the future. She previously said,

“I’m going to work on tossing things. … I immediately go into this, like, ‘Oh, my gosh Mia, no one deserves to have anything thrown at them.’ Like, that’s real rude. I will own that. Self-accountability 101. It’s not the nicest thing to do to anybody.”

Their cast-mate and former close friend Karen Huger was caught in the middle as Mia threw the glass of booze of Wendy OsefoWendy responded by calling Mia a “crater-faced bi*ch.”

Whether or not she is able to establish a close friendship with WendyMia seemingly has a lot of love for the professor, writer, public speaker, and political commentator. In reference to Wendy’s accomplishments, she said,

“At the end of the day, we may have this love-hate toward each other. It’s like the power of the boss queens. She’s such a phenomenal female. … She’s a powerhouse, and she’s brilliant, if you ask me, and I think when you put two type A personalities together, there’s going to be some tensions — or some martini tosses.”

Simply put, if you’ve had enough of Mia — it looks like you’ll have to turn the channel to something other than Bravo TV on Sundays at 8/7 central.
