Bad Boy Records artist Ma$e recently recalled the night The Notorious B.I.G. was tragically killed.
In a new episode of Ma$e’s sports talk show “It Is What It Is,” the ‘Tell Me What You Want’ rapper spoke on the moment he learned The Notorious B.I.G. was murdered twenty-six years ago. During the show, Ma$e, real name Mason Betha, also recalled a traumatic incident following the death of Bad Boy Entertainment’s leading talent.

As you may recall, The Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, lost his life in 1997 after a gunman fired shots into his vehicle during a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. He was 24 at the time of his death. According to reports, no arrests have been made in connection to Biggie’s murder.

Biggie
Toward the end of the show’s episode, Ma$e’s co-host, Cam’ron, asked the 48-year-old about the night Biggie was shot and killed. Ma$e shared,
“I was actually in a hotel with a young lady. I actually was trapped in the hotel… It was about, probably like, 70 or so Bloods in the hallway. I couldn’t even leave my room.”
Cam’ron then questioned why there would be “70 Bloods” in the hallway after Biggie’s passing. The New Yorker had a theory of his own and stated,
“Actually, after Big got killed, they was probably looking for more Bad Boy artists. And I couldn’t even leave the room ’til Gene Deal [Diddy’s ex-bodyguard], the officer, came and had to come get me. I was left in L.A. and from that day I always said, you know, I’m out of here.”
When Cam’ron asked Ma$e to elaborate how he was “left in L.A.” after the shooting, he said,
“I was left. I came there with people. I didn’t leave with those people. You know how it go. Find your way home.”
