Timbaland Apologizes After Saying Justin Timberlake Should Have ‘Put A Muzzle’ On Britney Spears For Speaking On Their Relationship In Her Memoir
Timbaland had some time to think about his recent remarks and has issued an apology.
As previously reported, Timbaland recently had a candid conversation with 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. During their chat, an audience member noted that Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” is “making headlines again” thanks to Britney Spears’ recently released memoir. In response, Timbaland – who is a good friend of Justin Timberlake’s and produced the 2002 hit track – said,
“She goin’ crazy, right? I wanted to call JT, ‘Man, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl.’”

In her memoir, Britney Spears revealed to the world that she was pregnant by Justin Timberlake and had an abortion because he didn’t want to be a father at the time. In addition, she claimed her ex would use a blaccent when speaking to Black artists, and the “Cry Me a River” music video purposely painted her to be the villain in their relationship.

It didn’t take long for the public to slam Timbaland for his controversial statement, which seemingly prompted him to have a change of heart. Last night (Nov. 7) the music vet went live and issued an apology. He said,
“I apologize to the Britney fans and her.”
After reading a comment from one of his viewers, he continued,
“Yes, ‘you know about respecting women?’ Hell yeah.”

At this time it’s unclear if Britney Spears has accepted Timbaland’s apology but many of her fans have made it clear that they don’t.
