Update #3 (April 4, 2024): Cassie is reportedly cooperating with federal agents as they investigate Diddy amid sex trafficking and sexual assault cases against him. Sources close to the situation said, per TMZ, that Cassie is a witness, and has been speaking to feds amid their probe against Diddy. 

She has reportedly been in contact with them for several weeks, which means she was already cooperating with Homeland Security agents who raided his Miami and Los Angeles homes last week. It’s speculated that the information Cassie gave federal agents helped them secure a warrant to raid his estates.

It’s unknown how many other women are cooperating with federal agents, however, Cassie is reportedly not the only one.

Update#2: (Nov. 20, 2023): Diddy might have settled with Cassie, but he’s still adamant that he’s an innocent man.

As previously reported, the 52-year-old businessman wasted no time settling with his ex/former artist Cassie, 37, after she filed a lawsuit accusing him of many troubling things, including rape, physical abuse, and sex trafficking.

Key details of the settlement haven’t been released to the public, but news of the reached agreement caused many to believe Cassie’s claims. However, Diddy’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, released a statement, expressing that his client is not guilty of any wrongdoings. Brafman said,

“[This is] no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Update#1: Sean Combs and Cassie have reached a settlement in a lawsuit Cassie filed accusing him of rape and abuse, it was announced Friday.

The announcement comes just one day after Cassie, a singer whose full name is Casandra Ventura, filed the suit against Diddy. The two had been romantic partners. “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Original Story: On Thursday (Nov. 16), Cassie — real name Casandra Ventura — filed a lawsuit against Diddy, claiming he started a pattern of control and abuse not long after she met him in 2005 at the age of 19. According to court documents, while they were together, Diddy — real name Sean Combs — repeatedly drugged, beat, and forced Cassie to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters.

Diddy allegedly referred to the sexual encounters as “freak offs,” which he put into action by having Cassie browse escort service websites. The events allegedly went on for years, taking place in high-end hotels across the country and at Diddy‘s houses.

According to the lawsuit, Cassie was a victim of sex trafficking as a result of numerous sexual encounters in different cities. She also accuses the music mogul of forcing his way into her home and raping her in 2018, near the end of their relationship.

A newly released statement from Cassie reads,

“After years in silence and darkness. I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Cassie‘s case is being brought under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows alleged sexual abuse victims to file civil suits after the statute of limitations has elapsed. For Cassie, the one-year window for filing expires next week.

In her lawsuit, she adds,

“With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.”

Diddy denied the allegations via a statement from his lawyer, Ben Brafman, who claims,

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

However, Douglas Wigdor, a lawyer representing Cassie, says the former lovers communicated before the complaint was filed. He alleges Diddy offered Cassie eight figures to silence her and avert the filing of this action, which she declined.

Diddy has been one of hip-hop’s biggest names for decades, but the lawsuit portrays him as a violent man who, in addition to regularly beating Cassie, wanted her to carry his gun in her purse. It also implies he was responsible for blowing up rapper Kid Cudi‘s vehicle out of jealousy and once dangled a companion of Cassie over a 17th-floor hotel balcony.

According to Cassie‘s suit, she was quickly drawn in by Diddy‘s jet-set lifestyle after meeting him and signing with Bad Boy Records.

However, he allegedly soon proceeded to exercise an excessive level of control over her life — paying for her car, apartments, clothing, and even having access to her medical records.

In one provided example, Diddy allegedly became upset when he noticed Cassie went to another talent agent in Los Angeles in 2009. As a result, the lawsuit claims he shoved her into a car and repeatedly kicked her in the face, causing her to bleed. According to the suit, he then had his staff transport her to a hotel room for a week of rest, refusing her requests to go home to her parents.

Court documents allege that others who worked with Diddy assisted him in controlling Cassie at times by threatening her with retribution — such as suppressing her music if she did not heed his directions — or by assisting in the concealment of his behavior. The suit allegedly contains multiple instances of her failed attempts to escape Diddy‘s influence.

According to the suit, which seeks monetary damages, after witnessing the violent consequences of rejecting Combs, as well as the extent to which he would isolate her from her support network,

“Ms. Ventura felt that saying ‘no’ to Mr. Combs would cost her something — her family, her friends, her career, or even her life.”

Cassie married personal trainer Alex Fine in 2019, the same year her business relationship with Bad Boy ended. The couple has two daughters, Frankie Stone and Sunny.
