Monica Speaks On Relationship w/ Jailed Ex-Boyfriend C-Murder, Says She Got Her ‘Heartbroken Again’ & Is Ready For The Public To Move Forward
Monica has finally addressed her current relationship status with incarcerated rapper and ex-boyfriend, C-Murder.
R&B singer Monica recently put an end to comments surrounding her (romantic) relationship with C-Murder, real name Corey Miller. The “Angel of Mine” songstress spoke on her relationship with C-Murder via social media after many questioned why the “No Limit” rapper appeared to be out of the picture.

Over the weekend, Monica attended rapper Nelly’s Black and White Ball in St. Louis accompanied by a man reportedly named Anthony. In the comment section of a video showcasing her and her date, she replied to a fan asking who the new guy is and where is C-Murder.

Monica said,
“OMGGGGG I haven’t said his name in 2 yrs can yall follow my lead like yall did when I brought him up. One band one sound”

The 43-year-old then left another comment on an Instagram fan page dedicated to her, detailing more of what happened with C-Murder.
She explained,
“Well, here it is in short! I got my heartbroken (again) and that’s ok! I learned yet another valuable lesson! I went through it, got over it, now I can laugh about it! Life continues! I feel great that through it he has representation to one day be free! Let’s move forward!”

If you didn’t know, Monica and C-Murder, 52, dated before he was arrested for a murder in 2002. He was found guilty of beating and shooting 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a nightclub in Harvey, Louisiana. C-Murder was sentenced to life in prison on August 14, 2009, and has been serving his time at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. The “Ghetto Symphony” artist has maintained his innocence over the years.

C-Murder, Monica
As we previously covered, speculation that the former couple had rekindled their romance sparked in April 2022 after Monica uploaded a picture to her Instagram account with C-Murder’s arms wrapped around her during a prison visit. Although she didn’t add a caption to the since-deleted photo, she mentioned New Orleans, Louisiana as the location, which is where C-Murder has been serving his sentence.
