D.C. Young Fly Shares Touching Valentine’s Day Tribute To His Late Girlfriend Jacky Oh: ‘Always Have A Place In My Heart’

D.C. Young Fly is showing love to his late girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.

On his Instagram page today (Feb. 14), the comedian, actor, and Internet personality posted a picture of him and his late girlfriend, Jacky Oh, whose real name is Jacklyn Smith.

The caption read,

“Forever my Valentines #AlwaysHaveAPlaceInMyHeart”

Some of D.C. Young Fly (born John Whitfield), and Jacky Oh’s closest friends and peers left comments under the post, including his Wild ‘N Out co-star B Simone.

According to multiple reports, Jacky Oh died at age 33 in May 2023 following complications from cosmetic surgery. Her autopsy stated that she developed a headache following her appointment and “was advised to take ibuprofen and to discontinue the ondansetron.”

Then, she reportedly “began to feel like her head was burning” on the evening of her death and “began to have difficulty speaking.”

Her aunt, who was taking care of her post-operation, called emergency services to bring Jacky Oh to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Just over a week after her death, D.C. Young Fly posted a sentimental message to Jacky Oh on his Instagram,

“I wasn’t in no rush to post this because I wanted it to be a dream so bad. But every hour, I’m reminded of reality, so I wanna make sure I applaud you in the proper manner. You are the GREATEST MOTHER I KNOW. Your soul was beautiful. You always wanted the best for others, and I admired how our family love each other!!!”

As he shared photos and videos of their time over the years, the Atlanta native continued,

“You know we GOD fearing, and we are grounded by the spirit. We never question the HIGHER POWER. We roll with the punches and continue to live righteous. [I] will always tell our kids how much an amazing person you were, especially a GREAT MOTHER!!!”

D.C. Young Fly then shared how he has been since the couple’s last conversation.

She had since left the series, worked as a realtor, and launched a lipgloss line.
