During the latest episode of Andy Cohen Live, the executive producer for ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ discussed Porsha Williams’ decision to end her marriage with Simon Goubadia after a little over a year. Andy Cohen admitted that he nor other producers of the RHOA knew about it before the news became public.
“None of us knew any of this was on the horizon and this was really meant to be Porsha’s happily ever after kind of victory lap season.”

Andy Cohen also noted that Porsha Williams’ divorce filing wasn’t a planned storyline for her return to RHOA.
“So it’s just, I was so surprised and taken aback and listen, we wanted Porsha on the show for Porsha.”

He highlighted the Bravo series’ intention to display Porsha’s life in an authentic light while expressing his unwavering support for the reality TV star despite the unexpected circumstances.
“We would take Porsha married, single, picking up the pieces of her life, on high, on low, however, she wants, you know, however she’s gonna be. But we didn’t know, and this is a really big right turn from the story that I think all of us thought we would be telling. So sending love to Porsha.”
Porsha filed for divorce earlier this month after she and the Nigerian businessman tied the knot in November 2022. According to reports, she met Simon Goubadia while filming RHOA Season 13 in 2020.

At that time, he was married to series “friend” Falynn Goubadia, but they divorced in April 2021.

Porsha announced she would return to RHOA after stepping away in 2021. NBCUniversal confirmed Porsha would regain her peach for Season 16, adding she and the company had signed an overall deal that included “scripted project opportunities.”

In a statement, the RHOA star said,
“I’m incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family. I’m looking forward to being back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and showing the world my new world!”
