Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Kevin Hunter Wants Back Pay From Alimony Checks & A Cut Of Her SAG-AFTRA Retirement Fund

The ex-husband of media maven Wendy Williams is back in court, hoping to collect his checks.

According to recent reports, Kevin Hunter filed a new motion amid his ongoing financial struggles, asking the court to hold Williams accountable for the severance pay he claims to be owed.

Reportedly, Kevin Hunter, 51, says in the filing that he’s been cut off from his court-ordered support checks since 2022. He claims that when he split from Wendy Williams, 59, back in 2019, she agreed to “a severance pay”  which has not been paid out to him since she was placed under guardianship. If you recall, Wells Fargo pushed for guardianship after the daytime TV host was dealing with health issues they claimed left her vulnerable to financial exploitation.

While Williams eventually regained access to her multi-million dollar fortune, Hunter says he still hasn’t been given his severance payout, significantly reducing his income. He alleges in the recent filing:

“I have not received my severance payments since January of 2022, which Plaintiff is required to make pursuant to the Matrimonial Settlement Agreement…This is an emergent matter because I rely on the severance pay for my living expenses and having been without this income for twenty-three months has affected me greatly.”

He continues:

“Therefore, I respectfully request that the Court require [Wendy] to immediately pay all severance payments which may be due and owing at the time of this Court’s Order.”

Hunter went on to claim that he’s attempted to settle the matter privately with Williams‘ team several times to no avail, adding:

“Since October 2021 I have tried to resolve this issue in multiple ways including previous motion and mediation, with no cooperation from the Plaintiff. As a result, I had no choice but to file this motion in this matter…I would not have had to file this motion if the Plaintiff did not stop my severance payments and if the Plaintiff would have signed the Qualified Domestic Relations Order for the SAG-AFTRA Retirement Plan.”

Hunter is seeking back pay for the two years he says he has not received the severance checks. Additionally, he’s also seeking that Williams be required to complete paperwork that would ensure him a cut of her SAG-AFTRA retirement money.
