Basketball star Steph Curry was battling some strong emotions during a recent game.
The Golden State champion was nearly overrun with tears after his long-time teammate Draymond Green caused his own ejection.

Steph Curry’s breakdown happened at a Warriors vs Orlando Magic game on Wednesday (March 27th). About 4 minutes into the first quarter, known hot head Draymond Green sparked a confrontation with referee Ray Acosta over his foul calls. The referee immediately hit Green with a technical foul as the athlete jeered in his face, firing up the hoop star even more.

Seeing what was happening, Curry and several other Golden State players came to Green’s aid, seemingly to keep things from going overboard. However, as Green walked away from the situation, he let off a few more heated words toward Acosta resulting in a second technical foul. In case you’re unfamiliar with the rules of basketball, after two techs in a game, players are automatically ejected. Green’s departure left the team’s defense extremely vulnerable, which Curry spoke on in his post-game interview.

The situation is inopportune for the Warriors, as they’re currently vying for a spot in the playoff games ahead of the 2024 NBA championship. Curry’s emotions about the matter were on full display after the ejection. The athlete first shook his head repeatedly in disappointment before he looked to be visibly fighting tears. However, he pulled his jersey over his head and attempted to shake off the feelings.
Steph Curry has known Draymond Green for 12 years and he’s watched Draymond sabotage parts of his own career for a good portion of that time.

After the game, both Curry and Golden State coach Steve Kerr were asked about Green’s ejection, to which Curry stated:
“We need him. He knows that. We all know that. So whatever it takes to keep him on the floor and be available, that’s what’s got to happen. Especially at this point in the year. So, it was a tough way to start the game.”

“Too bad. It was unfortunate. He deserved it. He will bounce back.”

The Warriors went on to win the game in the end, 101 – 93. There have been no reports on whether or not Green, who got an 8-game suspension earlier this year due to roughhousing a rival player, will suffer any other consequence from the NBA or his team at this time.
