Steph Curry’s Dad Dell Curry Remarries Following Divorce From Ex-Wife Sonya Curry: ‘Life Is Great Now’

Congratulations are in order for Dell Curry!

The father of famed NBA champion Steph Curry recently shared that he’s remarried following his divorce from Sonya Curry.

If you recall, the sports parents called it quits in 2021 after 33 years of marriage. In a messy public divorce battle, the two reportedly accused one another of having relations with other people outside of their partnership, resulting in the separation. A little over a year after the split, both Dell and Sonya were speculated to be dating new people, who just so happened to formerly be married as well. They attended the 2022 NBA champions alongside their new boos, with Dell being spotted cuddling next to his then-girlfriend Nicki Smith, and Sonya being seen cheering at the game with former athlete Steven Johnson.

It seems Dell and Nicki’s relationship continued subsequent to the viral moment and ended with the two tying the knot. The former NBA star spoke about his new wife during a recent interview, stating:

“It’s great. … I didn’t know what I was gonna do (after the divorce). I thought about going to the West Coast. I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna follow my sons. I’m going to stick it out.”

Adding:

“I had friends who introduced me to my wife now. I’d met her a couple of times. We talked on the phone for a month before I laid eyes on her. I’m like: ‘Oh, I like this girl, man. What’s going on here?’ I wasn’t going to get married again. But life is great right now. It couldn’t be better. For me, I’m at a great place in my life. My home situation is sound. My kids and their families are doing great. They’re happy for me. I’m happy for them,”

At this time it doesn’t seem that Steph nor his siblings Seth or Sydel have publicly commented on their dad’s new marriage, and it doesn’t appear Sonya has either. It’s reported that Dell and Nicki have been married for at least a year.
