Cher Says She Dates Younger Men Because They’re The Ones Who Approach Her The Most & Were ‘Raised By Women Like Me!’

Pop icon Cher is opening up about how she chooses men in her dating life.

The “Believe” singer recently explained that younger men are typically who she finds herself romantically involved with these days because they are the ones who approach her and they were raised by women with similar ideals as herself.

Cher, real name Cherilyn Sarkisian, 77, spoke about the matter during an appearance on Jennifer Hudson’s eponymous daytime talk show. In one segment of the episode, aired earlier today (May 1st), Cher opened up about her romantic history with Rock and Roll icon Elvis Presley. Revealing why she turned down her fellow musician’s advances in the past, stating:

“It was because I was nervous and I knew of the people around him and it wasn’t that they were bad people, it’s just that I was kind of nervous of his reputation,”

She continued:

“I’m really shy when I’m not working and kind of shy around men.”

Cher went on to subtly address all the internet chatter surrounding the 40-year age gap she shares with her current boyfriend ‘Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 38. She added:

“And the reason I go out with young men is because men my age or older — well, now they’re all dead — but before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me and younger men were… raised by women like me!”.”

If you recall, Cher faced much backlash after going public with Alexander Edwards in 2022. The pair were first rumored to have sparked a romance in November of that year after paparazzi snapped photos of them holding hands following a dinner date. Cher officially confirmed the relationship on her X account (formerly Twitter) a few weeks later, sharing a picture of the music producer with a heart, and commenting a smiling emoji when someone asked if he was “her new man.”

Despite various reports about alleged tensions in Cher and Alexander Edwards’ relationship, it appears the couple is still going strong. Just last month, the music producer’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, who he shares 4-year-old son Slash Electric with, even gave her vote of approval for the relationship, claiming it provided “stability” for their child.
