Update: Soulja Boy Apologizes To Metro Boomin After Threatening Record Producer Over 12-Year-Old Post: ‘I’m Going To Seek Therapy & Anger Management’
Update: (May 15, 2024): Is Soulja Boy the first rapper to issue an apology on X?
The “Turn My Swag On” artist — who often claims to be the first to do something — took to his account today (May 15) and apologized to record producer Metro Boomin. Soulja Boy wrote,
“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet. Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old.”

The apology follows threats Soulja Boy made to Metro Boomin last week on X over a resurfaced post from the “Heroes & Villains” mastermind.
12 years ago, in 2012, Metro Boomin shared online,
“My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”
Somehow the comment was brought to light all these years later, which prompted Soulja Boy to take multiple jabs at Metro Boomin, including bringing up his late mother. No word just yet on whether the apology was accepted or not.
Original Story: (May 12, 2024): Looks like Soulja Boy is the latest rapper to insert himself in a beef.
The “Crank That” artist lashed out at producer Metro Boomin recently after coming across an old tweet where the beat maker negatively mentioned his name.

Soulja Boy shared the resurfaced Tweets on his X account (formerly Twitter) earlier today (Sunday, May 11th). In one post dated July 14th, 2012, Metro Boomin wrote:
“My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

In another upload, Soulja Boy leaked DM’s that Metro Boomin sent him a few months later between September 2012 and January 2013, where the producer was trying to send the rap star beats and connect with him. As a caption to the post, Soulja Boy wrote:
“You was tryna send me beats too p***y a** boy @MetroBoomin”

Subsequently, Soulja Boy further ranted about Metro Boomin’s old posts across his social media pages. The Billboard chart topper posted a video expressing the disrespect he felt at the producer for suggesting that there’s something demeaning about people wanting to work with him. Soulja stated:
“2007 I had a #1…f**k is you talking about…you was lit about going to the studio with Jeezy b***h a**…what the f**k is you hype about going to the studio with Jeezy for?!”

Later in the video, Soulja demanded that Metro delete the tweet within 24 hours, prompting 21 Savage to ask what would happen if Metro didn’t. In response, Soulja targeted 21 Savage and Metro on his X account, offering to take their issues to the ring while also defending himself against people criticizing him for being upset about a tweet from over more than 10 years ago. In one post, Soulja wrote:
“I don’t give a f**k!!!! It’s always cool when a n***a come at me but when I defend myself it’s too much huh?! F**k that n***a mama!!!!!!!!!! Don’t speak on my name b***h!

He continued, sharing several other posts ringing the same sentiment.

Taking things a step further, Soulja then taunted Metro about the death of his mother and accused the producer of sacrificing her for wealth and fame. If you recall, the Metro’s mom was found tragically deceased back in 2012 as part of a murder-suicide carried out by her then-boyfriend.

Targeting Metro’s mom, Soulja Boy wrote in one post:
“You sacrificed your own mom @MetroBoomin you a puppet”

And added in another:
“All the streams, sales, money, and fame not gone bring your mom back @MetroBoomin was it worth it? I can say f**k this money and fame s**t and still be a boss can you?”

It does not appear that Metro has responded at this time.
