Drake Faces More Ghostwriting Accusations After Vory’s Alleged Reference Track For 2018’s ‘Mob Ties’ Leaks Online: ‘This Guy Been Lying His Entire Career’

Drake has been accused of using rapper Vory to influence one of his biggest hits. The Grammy winner, who’s widely speculated of having a team of ghostwriters, might not have been the brains behind his 2018 single “Mob Ties.”

The song, which samples Nas’ 1996 song “Affirmative Action,” has a handful of credits from Drake to The Firm (East Coast supergroup whose members are Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Cormega (who was later replaced by Nature)). Hip-hop duo The Trackmasters is also credited, alongside producers Allen Ritter and Boi-1da, per Hot New Hip Hop.

Interestingly enough, per the outlet, Vory is the only songwriter in the credits, who is not a part of Drake’s OVO label, and who did not help create the original song, “Affirmative Action.” Still, Vory’s contribution hasn’t been confirmed over the years.

Now, leaked audio that is said to be his reference track seemingly makes it clear that he wrote a good portion of the single.

Meanwhile, “Mob Ties” is trending this morning (Tuesday, May 28), as fans and critics weigh in on the rumor.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote,

“MAN WTF DRAKE DIDN’T EVEN WRITE MOB TIES ???? VORY’S REFERENCE TRACK JUST LEAKED. THIS GUY BEEN LYING HIS ENTIRE CAREER NOW. I’M OVER HERE QUESTIONING WHAT WAS EVER REALLY WRITTEN BY DRAKE NOW.”

Another added,

“Drake didn’t write mob ties?? Did he write anything in his life?? Idk what’s real anymore ??”
