Update: ‘Power’ Star Michael Rainey Jr. Says He’s Not Taking Being Sexually Assaulted By Streamer TyTy James’ Sister ‘Lightly’

Update: Michael Rainey Jr. has addressed how he was mistreated during TyTy James‘ live stream. In a post shared to his IG Stories, he wrote,

“At this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online. I am still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night. This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way. I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed.”

The text continued,

“The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We’re all human, and we should respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”

His remarks follow an apology from TyTy James who said he was “embarrassed and disgusted” by what his sister did. The internet personality also expressed he “completely respect [SIC] whatever direction” Michael Rainey Jr. decides to take to handle the serious situation.

The 23-year-old actor was featured on popular streamer TyTy James‘ stream when he was seemingly sexually assaulted by the internet star’s sister.

In the video, Michael Rainey Jr. can be seen visibly uncomfortable as TyTy James’ sister appears to touch him in the crotch area while whispering in his ear.

Following the live event and social media noticing and calling out the incident, TyTy James addressed the situation in a follow-up stream, expressing his frustration and stating,

“I’m trying to literally ignore this s***, but I’m getting texts, the energy shifted, and n***** got up and left. All that s*** really made me feel a way.”

He elaborated,

“I be around celebrities all day … She never seen somebody of that caliber, and that’s my sister so I’m not going to say nothing bad about her. I’m just going to check her.”

However, TyTy James has since had a change of heart. In a newly released statement, he apologized to Michael Rainey Jr. and said he respects however the actor decides to handle the situation.

“After the actions that occurred during my stream last night I would like to sincerely Apologize to Michael and his family for what took place. My little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I am truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions. I completely respect whatever direction Michael wants to go in this situation. After watching the clip, I was completely taken back by what she done. I will take extreme precautions with future streams to avoid similar issues and have banned her from participating in future streams. I do not condone any type of assault.”

While Michael Rainey Jr. has yet to speak on the incident, social media is buzzing with outrage over what occurred.

Another X user expressed similar sentiments, saying,
