Pastor T.D. Jakes’ Heart Attack Reportedly Played Role In Decision To Step Down From Potter’s House Church
T.D. Jakes’ health scare played a big role in his decision to step back from The Potter’s House.
Jakes recently announced that he’s appointing his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Toure Roberts, as the new senior pastors of the Dallas megachurch he founded.
Now, reps for Jakes tell TMZ that his heart attack last November, which occurred during a sermon and required emergency surgery, was one of the reasons behind his decision to step back.

Jakes will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and “spiritual overseer” of The Potter’s House. He’s also set to launch a new podcast, My Next Chapter, in partnership with iHeart Media, where he’ll discuss the “shifts happening in our world and our lives” during this time of national uncertainty.
We wish T.D. Jakes the best!
