Kehlani Adjusts ‘After Hours’ Song After TikToker Critiques Its Sound Quality: ‘You Just Made The Song So Much Better’
R&B star Kehlani has addressed issues with her song “After Hours” after a fan noticed the song was out of pitch.
The 29-year-old songstress recently took to TikTok to respond to a video explaining why her latest single sounds off-key.
In the clip, a TikToker who goes by the name Clark May, claims that the beat and the vocals of the leading single are in two different keys. Towards the end of the video, he suggested the sound issue could be fixed by putting the entire song in one key or using software to change the key altogether.

In a TikTok upload to her account, Kehlani responded to the critiques and assured listeners that the new audio is “much smoother.”
Kehlani said,
“I almost didn’t catch it. I went back and we tuned every single drum in ‘After Hours’ to the right key because the drum and the sample were all slightly out of tune.”

The musician went on and thanked the TikToker for bringing her attention to the matter, adding,
“And now the f*ck*ng song is a much smoother listen and thank you to the creator that discovered that because you just made the song so much better. Go listen to the new swapped out audio. Amen.”
