Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump’s Former Attorney, Disbarred Over ‘False & Misleading’ Statements On 2020 Election

Rudy Giuliani has learned there are repercussions to his actions.

Today (July 2) the New York Supreme Court announced that Rudy Giuliani has been disbarred due to his part in Donald Trump’s election interference efforts in 2020. The ruling notes the 80-year-old former mayor of New York City violated “some of the most fundamental tenets of the legal profession.”

And continues,

“Respondent flagrantly misused his prominent position as the personal attorney for former President Trump and his campaign, through which respondent repeatedly and intentionally made false statements, some of which were perjurious, to the federal court, state lawmakers, the public, the [Attorney Grievance Committee], and this Court concerning the 2020 Presidential election, in which he baselessly attacked and undermined the integrity of this country’s electoral process.”

As you may recall, Rudy Giuliani is one of several political figures with ties to Donald Trump who attempted to overturn the 2020 election. He was initially suspended from being able to practice law while the New York court considered what disciplinary actions to take against him. According to a report from CNBC, some examples of his lies provided by the court included allegations there was “’endemic election fraud’ in Philadelphia; that ballots had been smuggled from Long Island, New York; that thousands of non-U.S. citizens had voted in Arizona; and that Dominion Voting Systems machines had been manipulated in Georgia.”

Rudy Giuliani is facing charges related to the election subversion efforts in Arizona. He was indicted in a Georgia election subversion case as well.
