Desi Banks’ New Song Sparks Speculation He’s Dissing Druski Following Internet Comedian Rankings

Comedian Desi Banks has dropped a new (parody) song and music video, sparking speculation he’s dissing fellow comedian Druski.

In the music video, posted to Instagram on Wednesday (July 10), Desi Banks is seen in a blue suit, tied up and held hostage, pleading to be released for seemingly talking trash online.

The other character, portrayed as a gang member and also played by Desi Banks, starts taunting the hostage while rapping the lyrics:

“You a lame n****. Off your brain n****, til’ your gone n****.”

He continues,

“F*** that, f*** that, f*** a Complex. F*** a list, f*** a list… I’m that n**** b****.”

“It’s whole lotta n***** trying to be Desi Banks n****. I thought a n**** was standing on business. Ain’t seen a business move, show me business move… f*** that, Imma you business move. (They could’ve been, could’ve been)”

The music video post was captioned:

“How rapper make beef songs/music videos.”

Fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts and speculate whether the song’s lyrics aimed to diss Druski.

One Instagram user commented,

“N**** was you dissing Druski? I see what you did there.”

Another Instagram user added,

“@druski you got 24 hrssssss stand on binessssss.”

The “could’ve been” ad-libs are likely a reference to Druski’s satirical record label, Coulda Been Records, known from his IG Live talent-scouting show.

Druski

The reference to Complex in Desi’s song could be a nod to the publication’s recent rankings of the funniest people on the internet, where Desi Banks was placed at #8 and Druski at #1.

Complex’s rankings, released last month, elicited strong reactions from many, including Banks, who stated,

“I guess I ain’t s***… I’m pissed, but I’m gonna keep grinding.”

He later added,

“I’m playing, but I’m not because I care that much about comedy.”
