EXCLUSIVE: Gloria Govan Allegedly Appearing On ‘Basketball Wives’

Fans of  Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan may be in for a huge surprise.

theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports that the 39-year-old is allegedly returning to the franchise, however, insiders have shared with us that she’s just making an appearance and won’t be a series regular.

Gloria Govan was a debut cast member of the spin-off series Basketball Wives: LA, which first premiered in 2011. At the time, the reality star was engaged to NBA player Matthew Barnes, who she married in 2013 and divorced in 2016. She also shares 15-year-old twins Carter and Isaiah with the athlete.

After two seasons on the show, Gloria Govan announced that she would not be part of the third season and has not returned since. Off-screen, following her tumultuous split from Matthew Barnes which played out in a nasty public divorce battle, Govan went public with NBA coach and former professional player Derek Fisher. The couple tied the knot in 2021 and have since been raising their blended families together; composed of Govan’s two children with Barnes and Derek Fisher’s three children from a previous relationship.

News of Govan’s alleged guest return to the series comes just a month after theJasmineBRAND exclusively reported that her sister Laura Govan is said to be returning as well. Like her sibling, Laura Govan was cast in the first and second seasons of the short-lived spin-off series but also announced her departure ahead of season 3.

We also exclusively reported that Royce Reed, who shares a son with NBA star Dwight Howard, is also said to be returning. The former cheerleading professional was part of the first franchise installment based in Miami that debuted in 2010 and starred on the show for four seasons before exiting.

Part 2 of Basketball Wives season 11 premiered earlier this month with new episodes releasing every Monday.
