Young Thug’s Latest Bond Attempt Denied By New Judge

Rap star Young Thug won’t be a free man anytime soon.

Reports state that the musician’s latest attempt to receive bond was once again denied, despite having a new presiding judge.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, who was assigned the YSL RICO case following the recusals of Judge Ural Glanville and Judge Shukura Ingram, rejected Young Thug’s bond appeal. Judge Whitaker ultimately decided that the recent change in administration doesn’t constitute a “change in circumstances,” thus ruling that the decision not to grant him bail should remain.

As previously covered Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, 32, has been pleading for bond since his arrest back in May of 2022. The Atlanta native is currently on trial and facing federal RICO charges for allegedly leading his YSL group on a series of gang-related crimes, including murder, possession, witness tampering, and more, throughout the metro Atlanta area over a significant period of time.

Thus far, Thug has submitted motions to be released on bond at least 4 times during the trial with every motion being denied due to concerns about witness intimidation. Reports note that Thug has also made another attempt at a mistrial, which Judge Paige Reese Whitaker denied as well.
