Kendall Jenner Recalls ‘Hysterically’ Crying Herself To Sleep Over How Lonely Her Modeling Career Can Be At Times
Reality TV Star Kendall Jenner is opening up about the dark side of the modeling industry.
For those who may be unaware, Kendall Jenner started modeling professionally at the age of 14. Over the years, she’s gone from commercial print ad campaigns to walking the runways for well-known luxury designers. Forbes even recognized her as the world’s highest-paid model in 2017, noting she’d officially dethroned Gisele Bündchen as the title holder.
During a recent interview, the 28-year-old spoke about her job and how things aren’t always as glamorous as they might seem. She shared,
“I’m not gonna sit here and say that I’ve had the toughest journey. I think I’ve been extremely fortunate. But I also have had my own set of challenges, whether it’s [being] overworked or not getting a job that I would’ve really loved to get.”
Kendall Jenner continued, speaking on the hardships she has faced since stepping into the world of high fashion as a supermodel.
“It is very lonely. I’ve had really dark nights where I’ve been in random cities and just hysterically crying myself to sleep because I haven’t been home in three months and I’ve been pretty much alone the entire time.”
She added,
“Or I’m on a job and something really crazy happens at home that I’d love to be there for and I’m being told I can’t be. There’s been a lot of definite moments where I’m like, ‘What is going on, is this all worth it?'”
Despite moments of second-guessing if the sacrifices required for her line of work are worth what she’s giving up, Jenner did go on to express that it’s a “beautiful thing” to be able to travel so much because of her career.
