Tom Brady’s Ex-Wife Gisele Bündchen Shuts Down ‘Crazy’ Rumors That Their Marriage Ended Over An Ultimatum: ‘Sometimes You Grow Together, Sometimes You Grow Apart’

Gisele Bündchen has “no regrets” about divorcing Tom Brady

Gisele Bündchen recently spoke out for the first time since she decided to walk away from her union with Tom Brady. During the interview, Gisele Bündchen addressed the rumors that she gave the retired NFL player an ultimatum, forcing him to pick between his family or his then-football career. Bündchen, who described the divorce as “the death of my dream,” said:

“Wow, people really made it about that. What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It’s not so black and white.”

The 42-year-old model continued:

“Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever. If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”

The Brazilian supermodel also shared that the rumors regarding her divorce hurt her feelings and were by far “the craziest thing” she’d ever heard. She explained:

“Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart. When I was 26 years old and he was 29 years old, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together. As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make. That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person. It just means that in order for you to be authentic and truly live the life that you want to live, you have to have somebody who can meet you in the middle, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance.”

She continued:

“When you love someone, you don’t put them in a jail and say, ‘You have to live this life.’ You set them free to be who they are, and if you want to fly the same direction, then that’s amazing.”

Clarifying even more that the ultimatum rumors are not true, she shared:

“We’re not playing against each other. We are a team…and that’s beautiful. I look back and I have no regrets. I loved every bit of it.”

As previously reported, the former Tampa Bay quarterback took to his Instagram story last October to reveal the finalization of his divorce. He wrote:

“In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.”

Tom Brady, 45, continued:

“We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve. We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration.”

He shared:

“Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written. And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you.”

The NFL icon and his ex-wife decided to end their union after 13 years of marriage. As previously reported, the former couple started dating in January 2007 and tied the knot in February 2009. Throughout their romantic relationship, they welcomed 13-year-old son Benjamin and 10-year-old daughter Vivian. Outside of their marriage, Brady has a son, Jack, 15, with actress Bridget Moynahan
