Cardi B is setting the record straight following a heated street argument in New York City that was captured on video.
The incident, which took place at around 1 a.m. on July 28, shows the rapper involved in a confrontation with a woman outside 605 West 42nd Street.

The video, filmed by an onlooker, shows Cardi B in a black SUV, wearing a bright pink hoodie, leaning out of the vehicle’s window and shouting,
“I’m recording you b****, I’ll f*** you up for real.”
The altercation began after a resident of the apartment building allegedly kicked a Cybertruck parked outside the lobby.

According to media reports, an eyewitness described the scene, saying,
“There were a group of people who came outside my building to take pictures. One of the tenants was upset that they were taking pictures and said she can’t be there. She then kicked the Cybertruck and Cardi B starts shouting.”
The witness added,
“I couldn’t believe it was Cardi B.”
In response to the video surfacing, Cardi B took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify her actions.
She tweeted,
“B****** trying to be funny and make this something it’s not, but I don’t care. I don’t like when people think they can bully people for no reason. Like, how you gonna do all that yelling, hit their car, AND call the cops all because they’re taking pictures in front of a building?!”

Cardi also addressed claims that the argument with “random” strangers occurred shortly after her pregnancy and divorce announcement, saying:
“Why y’all trying to make me sound bad?? This was July 28th and I was defending them but ok.”

Adding to her defense, Cardi B shared a tweet from blogger Ken Barbie, which stated,
“In a video dated July 28th, Cardi B is seen shouting for a white woman to leave two black women alone as the woman hits their car and yells at them calling them various racially charged expletives for simply taking pictures outside of her building.”
Ken Barbie criticized social media for misrepresenting Cardi’s actions, questioning,
“Why do you think these pages were so quick to try and turn Cardi standing up against injustice she happened to witness into a bad thing? Weird.”

While Cardi B is clarifying her involvement in the incident, she did recently confirm her pregnancy on Instagram. This announcement came around the same time as reports that the 31-year-old rapper had filed for divorce from Offset earlier in the month.
