Original Story: (Aug. 21, 2024): Janet Jackson’s latest move is paying off—literally.
The iconic singer reportedly secured a staggering $13 million payday for her upcoming Las Vegas residency at Resorts World, bypassing a lucrative offer in London.
According to sources, the 58-year-old entertainer was “jumping for joy” when she inked the deal, which includes a series of “fresh and dynamic” concerts slated to kick off during the winter holidays.
Janet Jackson’s manager, Mo Elmasri, shared in a statement,
“We are thrilled to announce Janet’s upcoming residency. Janet is excited to connect with her fans and bring her iconic music to life in a fresh and dynamic way.”
The decision to choose Las Vegas over London was driven by the financial appeal of the Nevada deal, which reportedly “blew the London residency offer out of the water.”
While Janet Jackson wraps up her 96-show Together Again tour, she is gearing up for what could be another career-defining moment, with sources revealing plans for a special New Year’s Eve performance in Las Vegas.
This isn’t Janet’s first time headlining a residency in Sin City. Her previous residency, Metamorphosis, at the Park MGM in 2019, grossed nearly $12.9 million over 18 performances, making her the fifth highest-grossing female artist in residency at the time.
Janet Jackson’s new Las Vegas residency is still in the planning stages, with exact dates yet to be finalized. However, fans can anticipate the singer’s return to the Strip, likely either before or after Celine Dion’s run at the same venue.
