Nicki Minaj’s Lawyer Says Fan Who’s Suing The Rapper For $5 Million Will ‘Regret Having Gone Down This Disreputable Road’
Rap super star Nicki Minaj was recently hit with a slander lawsuit.
After a fan took legal action agains the musician, Nicki Minaj’s lawyer responded alleging the plaintiff has been “harassing” his client for years and will regret taking the matter to court.
An attorney for Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, 41, reportedly stated about the complaint:
“Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail.”
He added:
“He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims. He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”
Tameer Peak reportedly listed several instances where he was allegedly abused by Minaj, citing a 2017 live when, according to the suit, Minaj went on a “hate train” and accused Peak and several other fans of being paid moles sent to sabotage her. He additionally claimed that the “FTCU” artist invited him to her hotel one evening just to film and harass him for the 100,000 fans who joined her live.
Peak also alleged that he was “battered” by Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty during a 2020 Super Bowl event, which he says the rapper DM’d him about afterwards, and claims Minaj severely damaged his reputation with her fans by implying that he was mentally unstable and a stalker when she stated during a Stationhead session:
“It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic.”
Reportedly, Peak is seeking $5 million in damages for repetitional harm, emotional distress and financial loss.
