Lil Rod Reacts To ‘Monster’ Diddy’s Motion To Dismiss His Sexual Assault Lawsuit, Says He Is ‘Broke’ & Has Considered Suicide + Diddy’s Rep Responds To ‘Made-Up Claims’

Update (Aug. 28, 2024): Lil Rod isn’t backing down. After Diddy filed a motion to dismiss his $30 million lawsuit against the disgraced Bad Boy Records founder, Lil Rod is speaking out about what life is like after accusing Diddy of drugging and sexually assaulting him. He said of Diddy in an interview with Rolling Stone Tuesday (Aug. 27),

“He’s a monster. He’ll do whatever is necessary to get exactly what he wants. He doesn’t take no for an answer. He [told me] himself, ‘I’ll smack my mama.’ Anybody who can say that even jokingly is a monster. He’s nothing to be played with. For a person whose brand is Love Records, and changed their name to Love and named their kid Love, he doesn’t show love. He’s just marketing.”

“Because of this lawsuit, most people don’t want to come near working with me for whatever reasons, whether they’ve been in partnership with Puff or they want to just sit back and see what happens.”

“He’s a gatekeeper in the music industry. In this industry, to be successful, you have to have worked with someone like him or Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Kanye or 50 Cent. So many people I’ve worked with have had business deals with him. I reached out to try to get a deal for my album, and people don’t want to get involved.”

He credited T-Pain, who he had worked with before, as being there for him when the “Buy U A Drank” singer invited him to be the band director for his Juneteenth Hollywood Bowl performance. Still, even there Lil Rod said he was afraid to go anywhere alone as the fallout from the lawsuit has impacted his mental health and his safety.

“But doing that show, I had a couple mental breakdowns. I almost felt like it was too soon for me to try to come back outside to work. My anxiety was out the roof. I saw different guys backstage I didn’t know and got scared. I wondered where the security was. It made me very uncomfortable. It’s not a good feeling wondering if someone was there to attack me.”

“I’ve got three therapists. Everybody saw the video of Cassie. This is who I’m dealing with.”

He confessed that it’s gotten so bad, he’s considered taking his own life.

“I’m broke. I have no source of income right now. Every month I’m trying to figure out how the bills are going to get paid. Here I am standing up for justice, for what I believe is right for my life, and I’m being punished for that. I’m blackballed, for sure. I’ve had many nights and weeks and months of suicidal thoughts. It’s the music that has kept me living all my life.

Erica Wolff, a spokesperson for Diddy has since responded to Lil Rod’s interview, stating,

“Mr. Jones’ lawsuit is pure fiction—a shameless attempt to create media hype and extract a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, groomed, assaulted, or trafficked. We look forward to proving – in a court of law – that all of Mr. Jones’s claims are made-up and must be dismissed.”

Original Story (Aug. 26, 2024): Diddy and his legal team are fighting back against a lawsuit filed by his former employee and producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.

According to reports, Diddy and his legal team filed a motion to dismiss Lil Rod’s complaint in Manhattan Federal Court today (Aug. 26).

In the lawsuit, which was filed in February, Lil Rod accused Diddy of sexually harassing, drugging, and threatening him while he worked for the music mogul from September 2022 to November 2023. He is seeking $30 million in damages.

While Diddy and his attorneys have since denied the claims, their latest motion alleged that Lil Rod’s suit is just an attempt to reach a quick settlement by hurting the “Act Bad” artist’s reputation. In another complaint filed in March, Lil Rod also accused Diddy of being part of a “RICO enterprise” and said he was involved in a “sex trafficking venture.”

However, Diddy’s recent motion said that the complaint failed to provide essential details to establish the criteria for a RICO case and that the allegations are vague.

The motion reads,

“Running to nearly 100 pages, it includes countless tall tales, shameless celebrity namedrops, and irrelevant images.”

Diddy and his team also argued that Lil Rod never properly described the alleged sexual assault and harassment he endured while working for the record executive.

In response, Lil Rod’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, stated,

“This is clearly a billing exercise by individuals who are late to the game and are attempting to fill their pockets before their client is indicted.”

While Diddy’s attorney shared in a statement,

“Mr. Jones’s lawsuit is pure fiction — a shameless attempt to create media hype and extract a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, groomed, assaulted, or trafficked.” 

She added,

“We look forward to proving — in a court of law — that all of Mr. Jones’ claims are made-up and must be dismissed.”
