Chattanooga State Community College On Lockdown While Police Make Sweep & Look Into ‘Credible Threat’ On Campus
Sad news!
According to reports, Chattanooga State Community College students and staff started off their Thursday morning (Aug. 29) with an alert warning them to “Get indoors as soon as possible, shelter in place and lock your door.”

Minutes later they received another alert to their devices that said,
“TigerAlert: As this situation continues to unfold, please remain in your locked-down status until further notice.

It’s said that police are responding to an unspecified incident at the college. Details on what prompted the campus-wide shutdown and warnings of a “credible threat” are limited at the moment but it’s highly speculated to have something to do with an active gunman on campus. However, during a news conference, Chattanooga State officials and law enforcement revealed that they “have heard no gunfire” nor “encountered any suspect or victims,” per reports. Despite that, as of 11:30 a.m., law enforcement continues to clear and sweep the campus for safety.
