Now, Lil Wayne is speaking out himself. He hopped on Instagram live and apologized to fans for taking a few days to address the matter and said he had to “get strength” to make a statement “without breaking.” He then thanked fans for their support, adding that their words “held me up.”

Of being snubbed he said,
“That hurt. It hurt a lot. It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a let down. For just automatically, mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. I blame myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot.”
