Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reflects On Her Mother’s Absence While Preparing For Motherhood

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is preparing to welcome her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker next year, but she feels the “heartbreak” of her mother’s absence.

In a recent interview on Nick Viall’s “The Viall Files,” Gypsy discussed how she’ll address her complicated past with her daughter, admitting,

“I think from time to time about what could’ve been.”

She revealed that her stepmother, Kristy Blanchard, “has become more of a mother to [her] than [her] own mother was,” stating, “Kristy is going to be a grandma.”

Gypsy also responded to negative comments about her pregnancy, emphasizing the stigma faced by new parents with traumatic backgrounds, stating, “I’m mentally stable enough to be a parent,” reiterating her commitment to giving her daughter the best life possible.

For context, Gypsy spent seven years in prison for her role in the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who subjected her to years of abuse and unnecessary medical procedures due to Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
