The case stems from Wiz Khalifa’s headlining performance at the Beach, Please! Festival on July 13 of this year. The rapper was reportedly detained after sparking a joint on stage, as recreational marijuana use is still illegal in the European nation.
Romanian authorities released a statement after videos of the rapper’s arrest went viral, stating:
“Investigations revealed that during a performance at a music festival in the Costine?ti resort, Constan?a County, [Wiz] possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis (a risk drug) and consumed another quantity of cannabis on stage in the form of a hand-rolled cigarette.”

Wiz Khalifa took to his X account the day after the incident showing remorse, writing:
“Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a** joint next time”
It has not been reported that Wiz nor his attorneys have responded to the indictment at this time.
