Singer Jada Arnell On The ‘Road To Recovery’ After Being Shot Onstage While Signing Autographs
Dallas singer Jada Arnell is recovering after being shot on stage while signing autographs after her show at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters on Saturday (November 2).
According to NBC 5, the venue director Curtis King said a woman in the crowd shot Jada Arnell. He and other employees followed the shooter outside and called police. The suspect, identified as Micah Williams, was arrested in a nearby hotel lobby and booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond is $200,000.
King said Thomas recalled the incident:
“She said, ‘Big Papa aka Mr. King thank you for providing a safe space for us to be able to have a platform to perform as young artists, etc.’ And then five-ten minutes later here she on the floor, she’s saying, ‘she shot me.'”
Police haven’t revealed if Jada Arnell knows Williams or the motive.
Jada Arnell gave an update on her condition on Instagram Wednesday (November 6).
