Denzel Washington Explains Previous Remarks Alluding To Retirement: ‘I’m Less Interested In Running & Jumping’
Denzel Washington fans can rest assured knowing he isn’t retiring anytime soon!
The Oscar-winning actor recently clarified his previous remarks about stepping away from on-screen roles. During his interview with Seasoned BuzzFeed’s Ada Enechi, he expressed that he’s in the “return part of life” and his future movie roles must have a “level of interest to” him. He also noted that he wants to do more behind-the-scenes work and that’s “about 5 years out.”

Washington, who will turn 70 on December 28th, is slated to appear in a number of movies within the next several years, including a film version of William Shakespeare’s “Othello,” a Steve McQueen project, and Antoine Fuqua’s Netflix film about the Carthaginian warrior Hannibal, according to the actor’s recent interview with Australia’s Channel 9 entertainment.
Additionally, Washington revealed that he will have a part in Ryan Coogler’s next installment to the “Black Panther” franchise, sharing that the filmmaker added a role just for him.
