Former UVA Student Faces 20 Years To Life After Pleading Guilty To Killing 3 Football Players On Campus
Former University of Virginia student Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., 25, pleaded guilty Wednesday (November 20th) after being charged with the murders of three student-athletes.
Jones’ plea deal included three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
As reported, in 2022 Jones fatally shot football players Lavel Davis Jr., D’Sean Perry, and Devin Chandler, and injured several others, after the team arrived back to campus from a trip to Washington, D.C.

A report from the New York Post states that Jones’ plea deal leaves him facing 20 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder charges alone.
At this time no motive has been shared by authorities, and police state there are no indications that Jones personally knew the students killed.
His four-day sentencing hearing is reportedly scheduled to begin on Feb. 4th, 2025.
